El miércoles 5 de junio del 2019, celebramos el Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente.
La Fundación Saimiri fue a la Escuela de Guadalupe de La Palma, para celebrar con los estudiantes.
En la escuela, hicimos una caravana en la que todos los participantes iban en bicicleta o caminaban por la calle que rodea la plaza principal de la comunidad para promover el transporte ecológico.
Los estudiantes también participaron en una actividad de reutilización de residuos sólidos, creando billeteras de cartones de leche vacíos, limpios y secos. Vanesa y Margaret, nuestras colaboradoras, ayudaron a los estudiantes a crear las billeteras de cartones Tetrapack y los estudiantes se los llevaron a casa.
La siguiente actividad fue para que los estudiantes escribieran cartas a la Madre Tierra, describiendo cómo ayudarían a protegerla y a mantenerla bella.
Finalmente, todos los estudiantes y la Fundación Saimiri participaron en una limpieza de basura en la escuela. Esto ayuda a enseñar a los alumnos cómo limpiar siempre y mantener a la Madre tierra limpia para que otros la disfruten.
Esta actividad fue divertida tanto para los estudiantes como para los trabajadores de Fundación Saimiri, que reunieron a la comunidad para celebrar una causa cercana a ambos y proteger a la Madre Tierra.

This past Wednesday, June 5th, was World Environmental Day 2019.
Fundación Saimiri went to the school of Guadalupe La Palma, our community to celebrate with the students. At the school, everyone went on a bike or walk around the main square to promote green transportation.
The students participated in a reuse activity, creating wallets from milk cartons. Vanessa and Margaret helped the students create the wallets from the cartons and the students took them home.
The next activity was for the students to write letters to Mother Earth, describing how they would help protect her and keep her beautiful.
Lastly, the students and Fundacion Saimiri all participated in a garbage clean up of the school grounds. This helps teach the students how to always clean up after themselves and keep Mother clean for others to enjoy. This activity was fun for both the students and workers at Fundacion Saimiri bringing the community together to celebrate a cause close to both and protect the Mother Earth.
